Defying Medical Odd Kavya’s Inspiring Journey to Success

Kavya had always been a diligent student, dedicating long hours to her studies. She had been preparing for her matriculation exams with unwavering focus, sure of her success. However, fate had other plans for her.

Two weeks before her exams, Kavya’s right leg turned blue and she was in excruciating pain. Dr. Ashok Nirala of CNS Hospital diagnosed her with Deep Vein Thrombosis, a condition where blood clots in the veins, and advised her to rest. This was a setback for Kavya and her family, as her exams were to start on Feb 27.

Kavya was prescribed painkillers and sleep-inducing drugs to help her rest, but her parents were worried that she might not be able to write her final exams. The doctors were also not optimistic, and Kavya’s condition seemed to be getting worse with each passing day. She was confined to her bed, and her brother Mintoo had to carry her to the washroom as she was not allowed to walk. The high-potency drugs she was taking led to panic attacks, further exacerbating the situation.

However, Kavya refused to give up. She was determined to write her papers and excel, despite her condition.

“I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to complete my papers, but I knew that I had to try,” Kavya said. “I didn’t want to give up without a fight,” Kavya, – Chinchin for us said.

Impressed with the grit and determination shown by her, Dr. Arun Singh, her father’s friend, opined that she could still write the exams. On February 27, Kavya went to school in a wheelchair to take her papers.

“With tears in my eyes, I dropped Kavya at the school gate. Her mother Chinni took her to the examination room where she was asked to reach 30 minutes before the commencement of the paper. The non-teaching staff of the school, all four of them, carried her and her wheelchair on the third floor of the building where she was allotted the seat,” Indu Sharma, her father recounts.

“As she wrote her paper,, I and my wife, stayed put outside the school gate. We knew our daughter was in pain but were helpless. We knew any time she can get a panic attack and this could be the end of her tryst with the matriculation exam. But we were dwarfed by her determination,” he said.

Finally, the exams were over, and Kavya could finally rest. She was exhausted but also relieved that she had given it her all.

The next few weeks were nerve-wracking for Kavya and her family. They were unsure if she would pass her exams, given the challenges she had faced.

Kavya’s hard work and perseverance paid off. On May 14, her results were declared, and she passed with flying colors securing 89% marks.

“I am so happy and relieved that I passed my exams,” Kavya said. “It was a tough journey, but I never gave up. I knew that I had to do my best no matter what.”

Her parents were overjoyed with her success. “We are so proud of Kavya,” her mother said. “She showed incredible grit and determination in the face of adversity. We knew she had it in her to succeed, and she did not disappoint us.”

Kavya’s story is one of true determination and courage. Despite facing a serious medical condition and the pressure of her exams, she refused to give up on her dreams. Her family stood by her side, supporting her in every way possible, giving her the strength to fight on.

Throughout the ordeal, Kavya remained focused on her goals and never lost sight of what she wanted to achieve. Her determination is evident in her own words: “I was confident I would do well, and I didn’t want my illness to get in the way of my dreams.”
